#3 John Carroll opened its NCBA Division III World Series run in dominant fashion, defeating #2 VCU 15-1 at Pullman Park on Thursday afternoon. JCU’s offense came alive early and never slowed down, piling up runs throughout the contest to take control from the start. Kyle Witte led the charge at the plate, finishing 3-for-5 with a triple, two runs scored, and an RBI in the victory. The Blue Streaks combined timely hitting with strong pitching to keep VCU off balance all game long. With the win, John Carroll advances in the winner’s bracket carrying plenty of momentum deeper into the tournament.
