Sam was born and raised in Cleveland, OH and obtained his Bachelor's degree in Health Sciences from Cleveland State University in May 2023 as a member of the Jack,Joseph, & Morton Mandel Honors College.

In his senior year, Sam served as an Officer of the CSU Club Baseball team and was involved in the restart of the organization after its hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Post-graduation, he decided to stay with the team as a coach for the 2023-24 season. The Club saw early success since rejoining the NCBA at the Division III level in 2022, clinching a spot in the District Playoffs in each of its first two seasons after their return. The team was also announced as an addition to the Cleveland Guardians Nike RBI Program in March 2024.

In his free time, Sam enjoys catching bullpens, golfing, playing basketball, as well as watching and supporting his hometown Guardians and Browns.

"The NCBA and Cleveland State Club Baseball reinvigorated my love for baseball and allowed me to realize my passion and purpose to grow the game and help others continue their athletic careers. I will be forever grateful for the memories and experiences I gained in such a short time."
